How it works

TMS Re-Accreditation

AoBS Certification is valid for three years, after which renewal is required to stay aligned with current clinical standards and safety guidelines.

Re-Accreditation Options

Professionals can renew their certification in one of two ways:

  1. Full Course Participation
Attend one of the accredited live or online Clinical TMS Certification Courses, which are updated annually to reflect the latest scientific evidence, safety guidelines, and clinical best practices.
  2. Theory-Only Re-Accreditation (Online On-Demand)
For previously certified rTMS clinicians and technicians, AoBS offers a streamlined re-accreditation pathway through the theory component of the On-Demand Clinical TMS Certification Course.

This option provides access to the updated theoretical modules and final assessment, covering the latest developments in:

  • Clinical TMS applications
  • Safety guidelines and best practices
  • Advances in stimulation protocols and technology
  • Evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice

Participants who successfully complete the theory modules renew their certification for another three-year period.

About the On-Demand Clinical TMS Certification Program

Why choose our On-Demand Certification Program

After completing the program, you will receive your certificates from the Academy of Brain Stimulation and the EACCME, including your CME credits, immediately (no waiting). It has never been made easier to start offering clinically proven TMS therapies to your patients.

This On-Demand Online TMS Certification Program is officially accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®). It offers the exact same level of accredited clinical certification as our on-site courses, without the need to travel to one of our course venues or adhere to a fixed schedule. You can study at your own pace, from the comfort of your home, clinic, lab, or anywhere you want– whenever you want.

Certificates and International CME credits will be awarded upon completion of the program.

American CME: Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities.

Accreditation and re-accreditation according to the Dutch-Flemish Brain Stimulation Foundation

Our International Clinical TMS Certification courses – whether onsite, online live, or the on-demand program – are officially recognized by the Dutch-Flemish Brain Stimulation Foundation for TMS Certification (Stichting Hersenstimulatie).

We are authorized to grant both accreditation and re-accreditation for:

  • rTMS Professionals (prescriber)
  • rTMS Technicians (operator)

Each course grants 20 credits, which is the maximum number of points accepted for re-accreditation (nascholing / continuing education).

The current version of the educational material has been prepared for 2025.

The e-learning material can be accessed on the website using Windows or MacOS.

If you require any assistance, please contact us at info@brainstimulation-academy.com.

After completing the theory part of the On Demand module, you are invited to register for the Live Online Hands-On Practical examination.

Registration is only possible if you have completed the required theoretical part (Part 1) of the On-Demand TMS Certification Program. You will receive a confirmation email after submitting the form.

Duration of the live Hands-On Practical session: Up to 3 hours, often less for experienced participants.

Please Note: To be able to actively participate in the Hands-On Practical session, you will need to have access to your own TMS equipment and a person to practice on. The necessary equipment includes a TMS device, a treatment cap, a tape measure, a marker, and earplugs.

The live Hands-On Practical session will be conducted in small groups via Microsoft Teams.
