The Academy of Brain Stimulation Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and clinical practice in non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS).

The Foundation aims to:

Support independent research and technological innovation to improve the efficacy and safety of NIBS.

Fund PhD scholarships, fellowships, and training initiatives that foster the next generation of researchers and clinician-scientists.

Promote the responsible clinical application of NIBS by mentoring and advising healthcare professionals.

Facilitate collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and policymakers to accelerate translation from science to practice.

Advise and mentor clinicians in the responsible application of NIBS in clinical practice.

Increase evidence-based awareness of NIBS among healthcare providers, policymakers, and the public.

The Academy of Brain Stimulation (AoBS) foundation is recognized by the Dutch Tax Authority as an ANBI (Public Benefit Organization). This status is granted only to organizations that serve the public interest, adhere to strict governance and transparency requirements, and reinvest all resources into their non-profit mission.

AoBS promotes global education, clinical quality, and responsible implementation of non-invasive brain stimulation.

The foundation will undertake all activities that are directly or indirectly related to, or may be conducive to, the realization of its objectives. The foundation does not aim to make profits.

We are proud to fund and support research in the field of clinical noninvasive brain stimulation (NIBS) in order to facilitate innovation , increase efficacy and expand indicators of NIBS therapies as non pharmaceutical treatment alternatives for various neuropsychiatric disorders. We offer PhD scholarships in the field of clinical NIBS, and we support and supervise clinician-scientists who wish to contribute to the scientific development of NIBS therapies.
